An update, but not really an update. Still waiting on the Mayo clinic but my oncologist did say surgery will be the first step now.
Not really what I was hoping for. As I've said- surgery scares me more than the actual cancer for some reason. Maybe it was my surgeon informing me it’s going to be at least six hours or that he’s going to get out lymph nodes until my body can’t take it anymore or the risk of blood clots or just the general removal of an organ and then some.
But hey, on the plus side I get to buy a cool new recliner I will get to sleep in for a few weeks- thanks cancer.
That’s the only real update for now, no date has been set but hopefully we will have that in the next few days.
(insert dad joke below)
On a related note- I do need to get a new CT scan next week and scheduling that was fun:
Me: I need to schedule a CT per my doctor’s request.
Scheduler: Okay, I see your diagnosis is cancer is that correct?
Me: Yes it is.
Scheduler: Was this the result of an accident?
Me: . . . .uh no I don’t think so.
An accident???? That person needs to deviate from their script a bit!!! LazyBoy makes awesome recliners!! Thanks for the update!!!!
Hi Joe - your exquisite use of gifs in your updates deserves a special reward. Your sense of humor is incredible and I have a feeling that it will be very helpful in the coming weeks as you navigate...well, everything. Thinking of you and sending you encouragement, strength, and love! hope this next step is one step closer to recovery and remission. -Aviva
