Joe. You're so pleasantly funny. Now that price is right sound is forever part of my lexicon. Epic/MyChart does send notifications freaky fast- seems like there should be very few lab/imaging results that should notify a patient ASAP- and I imagine Drs and nurses would agree because I'm sure they have to explain a lot more than if they were the ones to inform. Or- haha, lab results come with a scale of concern, like the pain scale faces. Tom Petty is great- and it is hard. I'm hoping you've got company to hang with - I swear I'd go bother you if I were in town.
Thank you! Even though it can be anxiety inducing I think if I had to wait longer I would be even worse lol. As always I appreciate the kind words and support.
That news is a bit of a bummer but glass half full news is pretty good. Gotta accentuate the positive, right? Also great to have a dedicated and thorough oncologist. Sending hugs and positive vibes your way, Joe!
Great post as always, Joe, glad to hear your oncologist is so awesome.
I have the MyChart app too, I thought it was unique to my hospital. I can't imagine managing all this without out it although that message about "you may be seeing these results before your doctor" always freaks me out ... Pity it doesn't have some funky functionality to make the waiting any easier. Yes to Tom Petty!
Yeah that and Google usually gives me an idea on what’s going on which is nice. I would almost pay for a “fast pass” though to expedite the next steps if I could lol.
Serious read... congrats on the lighter spin. I have a question - I used to go to a psychedelic potluck, where some of the original researchers from the 1950s would speak, as well as some current ones. Many of the studies then involved end-of-life patients, often cancer patients. One of those patients came to speak, and she said that doing psilocybin in the study helped her stay present-minded, and enjoy life in the present. Now they also study patients having PTSD with it, who aren't end of life. So, maybe good for stress in general. Have you considered doing anything like that? There are places you can do it legally, like Denver and Oregon, I think.🙏🏽
